AIMS

This module is a good basic introduction to central heating for anyone who is new to the industry. It identifies basic boiler types, heat emitters and gives a brief overview of different heating systems.

OBJECTIVES

• To have a basic knowledge of the history of heating.
• To be aware of modern central heating and hot water systems, particularly boilers, heat emitters and hot water storage.
• To understand how the various elements of a heating system work together.
• To consider how different factors affect the choice and design of a system.
